Sponsors/Organisers Hill Head Sailing Club Warsash Sailing Club Portchester Sailing Club Fareham Sailing and Motor Boat Club The concept for a cross channel Sailing Rally to England in July 2001 was formed and fully endorsed by the Association des Plaisanciers du Port de Vannes, the Société de Regates de Vannes, the Town Council and the administration responsible for the twinning of Vannes-Fareham. We had been so well received by the four clubs near Fareham that we were unsure whether we would be able to return such hospitality. However, two years later at the beginning of August 2003 and joined by Les Amis de Conleau and all linked by Vannes-Fareham-Sail, we were ready to welcome the English flotilla. The celebrations went very well and good weather matched the occasion. Our visitors enjoyed the rallies and the parties so much that we were invited to return to England in 2005. Again we were able to feel the warmth of English hospitality. This time there were many more of us, 25 boats as well as almost 100 sailors from our local clubs. In this bulletin, by uniting narratives and photos, we have tried to outline the pleasures, friendly gatherings and joys. V.F.V et l'A.P.P.V |
